Windows Defender, previously known as Microsoft Security Essentials, has its own anti-virus that comes inbuilt. Unlike other all-in-one antivirus software such as Kaspersky or Noton Security, there is a lack of web monitoring, security from new malware outbreaks, and many other important features in Windows Defender.
I know people have many reasons to disable Windows Defender but this is 2019 and there is no way of Windows Defender, it used to be.
Is Windows Defender Good?
Microsoft knows about the issues you face and constantly improves the software. For example, the German Lab Avi-Test found himself a revolutionary improvement in the performance of Windows Defender in 2018.
Not only that, recently, Windows added sandboxing capability to Defender, making it the first person to do so. Sandboxing, in simple words, if it has captured a major application, do not allow malware to spread in other applications, as in this case - Windows Defender
In all, Windows built-in antivirus is a protector, if it comes to me. However, as I mentioned earlier, you have hundreds of reasons to disable Windows Security. You may want to temporarily disable the Windows Defender, or antivirus can flag some of your system's applications again and again.
