Network security has become important and important to check the incoming internet connection. People can access sensitive data and hardware used in networking. One way to keep network hardware safe is to change the router password. The router password should be unique and private, which can not be easily hacked. Changing the router password often with the increase in cybercrime is essential.
Materials needed:
- Know the router address
- Router's current login and router current password. Only a certified user can change the password of the router because it is an essential component in Internet security.
Step 1
Open the Internet browser and type the address of the router in the URL address bar. The address is in this form; 192.168.X.X. Each router has its own unique address with the last digits different from the second router. This is the local address of the router.
Step 2
Enter a valid username and password to open the router setting utility.
Step 3
Before changing the old password, the existing password used by the router should be knowledge of. Unless you reach the screen, continue to fill in the required fields that will allow someone to change the current password.
Step 4
The screen that allows changing the password will ask for the existing password and ask to type the existing password again and then ask for the new password.
Step 5
To avoid hacking hackers, setting a new password should be a good strong password. A good password should have more than 8 characters and lowercase, uppercase and numeric words should be used. Some password forms allow the use of special characters. Someone should avoid keeping a password with their birth date, or any significant date or name.

To help with any illegal hacking of data or passwords, you can also see some additional settings on the Settings page. Many other firewalls can be set up to avoid access by any other user.
Step 7
Immediately after setting up a new password, it is noted in some safe place so that someone can find it, in any case, he forgets it.
Step 8
After confirming the new set password, log the router. To log it out of the browser and then log in with a new password to check whether the new password is saved correctly or not. If someone is able to log in then this indicates that the new password has been set and it needs to be re-checked.
