How to Flash Redmi note 5 pro in EDL mode without unlocking boot loader

1. Turn off the phone and remove the SIM card tray. Now use tools/nail to remove back panel. Start from the bottom of the phone. Do not use too much force.

2. Remove 2 screws as shown below. To see Test Point on the phone.

3. Disconnect the battery connector carefully from the main board as shown in the picture below. Now the time of test point. The test point area can be covered by tape. You need to peel the tape.

4. Now you need short / wire to short and connect to EDL mode by entering the entry points. Minimize test points with a chooser or wire, and now connect the USB to the PC. When PC detects new hardware, remove tweezers/wire from Test Points.

5. Open the Device Manager on your PC. If you see QHUSB_BULK in Device Manager, right-click and select the update driver.

6. Browse My Computer for Browse Driver Software And select the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 drivers you downloaded above. Choose to install this driver software anyway.

7. The driver will be installed successfully and you can add Qualcomm HS-USB in the port. And you are ready to flash the Fastboot ROM on your phone.

8. Go to your desktop and install Mi Flash Tool and you will see the Mi Flash app on your desktop.

9. Now unzip the Fastboot ROM folder on your desktop and you will see some files and picture folders in the Fastboot ROM folder.

10. Now run the Mi Flash Tool app on your PC.

11. Ensure your phone is connected and the phone is in EDL mode

12. Now click on the refresh button in the Mi Flash tool and you will see your phone connected to the app.

13. Now go to the Fastboot ROM folder and copy the folder's URL.

14. Now paste the URL in the address bar of the Mi Flash Tool. See the image below.

15. Now in Mi Flash Tool. Click on "Clean All" option form bottom right corner. If you want to lock the bootloader again, select "Clear All and Lock". But we recommend you choose the Clean All option, this will not lock your phone bootloader.

16. Now you are ready to go. Press the flash button and the flashing process will start on your phone and it will take 5 to 6 minutes to complete the process.

17. Once the flashing process is complete, you will see the success message on Mi Flash Tool. And your phone will reboot automatically.

Now you successfully flash the Fastboot ROM on your Redmi Note 5 Pro. Remove the cable and connect the battery connector to the phone and turn it on.
