How to fix Wi-Fi connectivity and network issue of Mi Max 2

Xiaomi introduced the Mi Max series, in which a device was introduced with larger display compared to other smartphones and also packed in large batteries to be used for long periods of time. Xiaomi launched Mi Max 2 more than a year ago, however, the device still packs in a punch.
Mi Max 2 is definitely not targeted for all smartphone enthusiasts because the device has a large form factor which can not appeal to everyone. Fortunately, Xiaomi is still issuing updates for the device so most issues should be fixed under the same line by Xiaomi.

Wi-Fi connectivity problem

Wi-Fi problems are easily cured and no more time is needed. If you can not connect to Wi-Fi on your Mi Max 2, here are some steps to perform for connecting to Wi-Fi.

Possible solutions:

  • Remove the Wi-Fi network from your device's remembered network list. Connect to Settings - Connections - Wi-Fi and push forward buttons on the network name with which you are facing problems. Now try to add the same Wi-Fi network again.
  • The problem may also be with your Wi-Fi router, so try a simple unplug, and then after 10 seconds for a quick soft reset, fill the router again. This helps to resolve the Wi-Fi problem you are experiencing.
  • Reset Network Settings. This will delete all Bluetooth related data on your device, but note that it will also remove all your Wi-Fi networks, mobile data limits, paired device connections, and all app data restrictions. On the bright side, this move sometimes works like a charm. To reset network settings on your Mi Max 2, follow these steps:
  • Go to device settings and search for network settings reset.
  • Go to Options, and use it to reset network settings, which reset Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and data settings on the phone.

Network issue

Some Mi Max 2 users are facing network issues, in which the mobile network is disconnected very often. There are several reasons for the problem, however, there are some things to help you get a better network connection.

Possible solutions:

  • Turn on Airplane mode and wait 30 seconds, then turn on airplane mode and reconnect the network. Doing so helps in connecting to the nearest mobile phone tower, which can be a strong signal.
  • If you are using a thick case on your Mi Max 2, then it is likely that the matter can disrupt the signal strength, so we recommend checking the network connection without using any case on the device.
  • If there is still no luck, restart your device by pressing the power key and then press Restart. Wait for the device to reboot, and then see if you are connected to a mobile network.
In the end, this can be due to only being near your location of the mobile tower, and unfortunately, there is no solution for this.
