How to make bootable USB windows 7
Power iso software is a simple way you can create a bootable USB pen drive.
Step1: Create Bootable USB Drive
- Start PowerISO (v6.5 or newer version, download here).
- Insert the USB drive from which you intend to boot.
- Select the menu "Tools> Create Bootable USB Drive". The "Build Boot Bootable Drive" dialog will popup. If you are using Windows Vista or above operating system, you must confirm the UAC dialogue to continue.
- Click the "Create Bootable USB Drive" dialog, "..." button to open the ISO operating system's ISO file.
- Select the correct USB drive from the "USB USB Destination" list if many USB drives are connected to the computer.
- Choose the appropriate writing method. "USB-HDD" is recommended.
- Click the "Start" button to create a bootable USB drive.
- PowerISO will alert you that all data on the USB drive will be lost. Click "OK" to continue.
- The program will start writing USB drives, and show progress information. You should write a message "Writing USB drive successfully completed." After the operation is completed.
- If there is no error in the above process, you should now be ready to setup Windows from a USB drive!
Step 2: Configuring BIOS
You should now reboot and go to BIOS configuration to boot from USB. Instructions to do this varies greatly from the system to the system, but usually, enter the following:- Reboot the system.
- Hit the BIOS configuration screen by hitting something like boot while loading (before Windows loads), F1, F2, Delete or Escape. Hotkey instructions are usually given on the screen.
- Go to the section in which you have a boot device.
- With your USB drive plugged in, the USB drive should be listed. If it is not, then your system can not support booting from USB. Assuming that it is supported (as is the case with almost all modern hardware), promote your USB drive in the primary boot device.
- Exit the BIOS configuration, saving all the changes.
Step 3: Booting and Setup Window from USB Drive
- Assuming that you have properly configured your BIOS and your USB drive supports booting, Windows setup should now be loaded. Depending on the speed of your USB drive, this may take some time.
- If this is not working, please double-check the following before creating the scene:
- Are your BIOS configured correctly to boot from a USB device? (Does the USB device be listed and is it a top priority?)
- Have you correctly set up the USB drive in step one? (Restart the process.)
- Done
